Washington's Birthday was first celebrated as a federal holiday in 1885 on President Washington's birthday, February 22nd.
In 1968, in order to provide three day weekends to workers, the official date was changed from President Washington's birthday to the third Monday in February. Although it remains formally Washington's Birthday, it has been expanded to celebrate President Lincoln's birthday, February 12th, and is commonly known as President's Day, a time to look at the history of the United States and the presidents who have led the country through trials and triumphs.
Join Blue Sky in celebrating the remarkable men who have served as president.
